Self-regulation is now an important concept in Kindergarten education, one of the four frames of early learning in Ontario’s Full-Day Early-Learning Kindergarten curriculum. The challenge is that self-regulation means different things to different people. In this Institute Dr. Susan Hopkins, executive director of The MEHRIT Centre, will present and unpack the concept of self-regulation developed by Dr. Stuart Shanker, author of Calm Alert and Learning, and Self-Reg: How to help your child (and you) break the stress cycle and fully engage with life.
Participants will benefit from presentations by Canadian and internationally renowned experts in a two-day event featuring updates from key researchers and stakeholders. Canadian physicians and healthcare professional attendees will become up-to-date on the evolving regulatory system and current research to provide safe and effective use of cannabinoids in clinical practice.
From March 27 to 29, 2019, public health professionals from across Ontario will gather to explore how strategy, leadership and practice can align to address changes in the public health sector. It is a time of transformation within public health, with the Ontario Public Health Standards, as well as emerging and ongoing health issues that present new opportunities and challenges for today’s public health professionals.
