We have great news! Despite delays due to COVID-19, such as supply lines being squeezed, labour forces being thinned out, and the project being deemed non-essential commercial work, we are back on track to have our Sky Bridge, connecting Beanfield Centre to Hotel X, ready in November as originally planned! Here is an update on construction from NORR Group:
1) The pier is being constructed right now and the piles and pile cap have been completed
2) The steel pier will be craned into place in July and the main structural steel will be erected in early August. This is currently scheduled for the first week of August; this will be the exciting big lift of the bridge onto the support!
3) Glazing and roofing close in will follow in the month of August and spill into September.

Huge thanks to NORR, Ellis Don, and all the staff of Beanfield Centre and Hotel X for working cooperatively to overcome so many challenges thrown our way by COVID-19 and get us back on track for final completion! We should all be able to take an inaugural walk across the bridge in mid-November; we’ll keep you posted on details of a ribbon cutting ceremony!
